According Mets GM, Sandy Alderson, there is no deal and there will not be a deal for Carlos Gomez.  He went on to blame the media and social media for getting ahead of the story and for making Wilmer Flores cry during the game.

Could this night be more of a perfect picture of how things go with the Mets?  I mean it's a deal that actually makes sense, looks like it almost happened and then Alderson acts like there weren't even trade talks and the trade deadline isn't approaching.

Matt Harvey is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and as competitive as he is he wants to be on the mound for the Mets in August for 5-7 starts.  But GM Sandy Alderson isn't going to let that happen.  There is also the fact that August is only 10 months after surgery and the typical healing process from Tommy John is 12-18 months.
