The 2017 NFL Season Is Off To An Odd Start

The 2017 NFL season got off to an odd start when the New England Patriots blew a second half lead at home to the Kansas City Chiefs.  Not only because they lost a game at home, but because Mr. Checkdown, Alex Smith, unveiled a brand new down the field attack.

The odd start didn't stop with an opening night upset. It continued into the weekend with the Chicago Bears playing the Atlanta Falcons tight and the Cleveland Browns making it a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are predicted to win against the Vikings this Sunday, according to My Top Sportsbook.

The Houston Texans lost by double digits to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Los Angeles Rams put up 46 points on the Andrew Luck-less Indianapolis Colts.

ESPN's power rankings reflected the chaos, with teams moving several places from their preseason ranking.  As crazy as predicting the power rankings preseason proved to be, picking against the spread was probably a tricky task as well.
