Indians pitchers Cory Kluber, Andrew Miller and Cody Allen combined for a Game 1 shutout of the Cubs. Miller got out of a bases loaded jam in the 7th with a strikeout of David Ross:
And with two runners on in the 8th, Miller struckout Kyle Schwarber:
The best part of Miller getting out of the bases loaded jam was John Smoltz turning it into a positive for the Cubs. Smoltz said something stupid about them getting to see a lot of Miller and even though they didn't score it was a good thing for them. One of the dumbest things I've ever heard during a baseball game. Why don't you ask the Blue Jays about seeing plenty of Miller? All Miller did was win the ALCS MVP Award.
Speaking of winning, all Terry Francona has done is win in the World Series. With the Game 1 win, he's now 9-0 as a manager in the World Series.
