Penn State Is Going To Honor Joe Paterno Before Their Game Against Temple On September 17th

Onwardstate.com is reporting that Penn State is planning to honor disgraced former head coach Joe Paterno prior to the September 17th game against Temple.

Penn State plans to honor legendary head coach Joe Paterno prior to kickoff against Temple on Sept. 17. The school will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Paterno’s first game as head coach of the Nittany Lions.

The news was nestled deep in a press release today announcing the season’s promotional calendar. The Athletics Department is officially calling it “Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Coach Paterno’s first game as Penn State head coach,” although it is not yet clear what all that will entail.

I'm sure there will be more than a few people unhappy with Penn State's questionable decision.  Especially when you consider what was revealed just a couple of months ago about an interaction between Paterno and a Sandusky victim back in 1976.

I know State College is a bubble, but come on, what makes them think this is a good idea?
