Chapman Trade Is A Done Deal, Yankees Have Packed It In

The Yankees, whether or not they want to acknowledge it, are selling.  They have come to an agreement to cut off one of the heads of their three headed bullpen monster.

The Yankees are trading Aroldis Chapman for four players including a top shortstop prospect, via New York Post:

The Yankees and Cubs were in the final stages of completing a trade Monday morning that would send Aroldis Chapman to Chicago for elite shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres, Adam Warren and two other pieces, The Post has learned.

Is this the beginning of a fire sale?  If not then why trade Chapman in the first place?  This move, even if it's the only one, means the Yanks are packing it in.

The three headed monster was fun while it lasted.
