The Rockies Designated Jose Reyes For Assignment

The Colorado Rockies have designated their wife beating shortstop Jose Reyes for assignment.  Would they have made the move if Trevor Story never happened?

That's a question we'll never know the answer to.  But it sounds like Jose's time as a Rockie is probably over.

It looks like they plan on releasing him if they can't trade him, via ESPN:

"At the end of the day we felt that it was best that we part ways; best for the direction of the organization, best for what was going on in the clubhouse and best for José," he said.

The Rockies now have 10 days to either trade him, release him or have him accept a demotion to the minors.

Part of me wishes this would happen every time a dude gets in trouble for domestic violence.
