Conor McGregor is picking a fight that he's not going to win. Even if he is the UFC's biggest star right now. The one thing Dana White and the UFC have done really well is find their next big star.
McGregor is that dude right now, but that could be all gone tomorrow. They've replaced Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Brock Lesnar, Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre, Matt Hughes, Jon Jones while he was dealing with his shit and the list goes on.
It's not a great career decision to run up on the UFC. You are replaceable no matter how good of a fighter you are or how big you become.
You blink and it's all over. Finish out your current contract and win some fights, bring in tons of money then negotiate a new contract.
I think the fighters should ne making a ton more money than they currently do, but you're not going to get anything done like this. They'll just move on to the next one.
