Conor McGregor did an interview with severemma.com ahead of his UFC 196 fight at 170 against Rafeal Dos Anjos. During the interview he was asked about people thinking he's doing whatever he wants in reference to his change in weight class.
McGregor admitted he in fact was doing what he wanted, "When you can rack up $400 million in revenue for the company, you can do whatever the fuck you want. I’m living the whatever the fuck I want life. That’s the life I live. Whatever I want, whenever I want."
It's hard to argue that he can't do what he wants or that he's earned that right. But we've seen this story before with other fighters in the UFC. They walk through a few fights and get too cocky and end up getting beat.
Ronda Rousey's loss being the most recent. But she's not the only one. Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva both got a little too cocky and ended up losing.
Will this happen to McGregor? We'll have to wait and see. He has become increasingly cocky, but he's so far been able to back it up in the octagon.
