Bryce Harper On $400 Million Contract Potential "Don't Sell Me Short"

Bryce Harper was asked about the potential to receive a $400 million contract when he becomes a free agent in a few years.  The 2015 NL MVP had this to say about it, via CBS DC:
“Yeah, I mean I don’t really think about that stuff. I just try to play the years out and do everything I can to help my team win,” Harper said. “But don’t sell me short. That’s what you’re doing right now to me, so don’t do that.”

“I’m looking forward to just playing this year, just looking forward to playing the next couple years,” he added. “And I think all that stuff will play out.”
There are plenty of haters who will jump all over Harper for this.  He's likely being a little sarcastic.

But to his defense it's still a few years away and maybe at that time a $450 million contract makes sense.  As much sense as paying someone that kind of money to play baseball can make.
